Advanced Farm

Advanced Farm was an agricultural automation startup based in Davis, CA that developed robotic systems for berry picking and packing. CNH Industrial acquired the assets and IP in 2025.

My primary project was a weight-controlled conveyor for collecting discarded fruit — designed with my manager on a whiteboard on day one and built entirely by me before the full Pack Line shipped to southern California for testing.

I had one shot at the design before the deadline: cutting steel tubes, drilling joints, TIG welding the structure, and installing scales, sliders, and rollers. Rubber strawberries — slightly off-putting and very bouncy — stood in for the real thing during testing.
