FRC 1678: Citrus Circuits

Mechanical Design Lead & Robot Operator·Engineering

FRC Team 1678 Citrus Circuits is a competitive robotics program out of Davis, CA, holding the record for most consecutive Einstein (World Championship Finals) appearances among roughly 4,000 global teams.

As Design Lead, I led and oversaw the ideation, prototyping, CAD, assembly, and iteration of the team's competition robots. With only two months to build each year, the team ran a quick, iterative design process — rapid prototyping followed by mechanism testing before committing to final CAD models.

In 2019, I operated the robot at the National Championship, where we reached the Einstein Finals. The 2020 season was cut short by the pandemic. Beyond competing, sharing what I learned with the broader FRC community was the most rewarding part of my involvement.
