During my senior year I had the opportunity to mentor a group of three first-year engineering students through the Learn Engineering Through Applied Projects (LEAP) program at the Thayer School.

The Project

Sustainable Hanover, the Town of Hanover's sustainability committee, has pledged to reach 100% renewable heating, cooling, and transportation by 2050. To that end, I:

• Guided and worked alongside first-year engineering students to research district geothermal heating solutions

• Assembled clear documentation about ground-source heat pumps, how to implement them residentially, and the costs involved with doing so

• Delivered a report to the Town of Hanover’s Sustainability Committee outlining the feasibility of district geothermal
